SeaLife introduces its new compact Sea Dragon 5000+ Photo and Video Lamp. The Sea Dragon 5000+ Photo and Video Lamp is a powerful underwater lamp that delivers 5000 lumens in a uniform 120° wide beam. The lamp offers a color rendering index (CRI) of 90 with a proprietary COB LED array that mimics natural sunlight (a CRI of 100 would match natural sunlight). With the new patent-pending SeaLife Color Boost™ mode, the photo and video lamp combines red and white light frequencies to create a warming underwater effect that increases brilliance and adds more color to underwater photos and videos. The Sea Dragon 5000+ is tested to a depth of 330 feet (100 meters).
Other LED underwater lights offer a much lower CRI and lack important color components necessary for natural and colorful underwater photos and videos. The Sea Dragon 5000+ provides 5000 lumens of white light at a color temperature of 5000k. When SeaLife Color Boost™ is enabled, the color temperature warms to 3700k, which replenishes the lost red for a balanced effect, especially when shooting from a greater distance. The Sea Dragon 5000+ also features an override function that allows brightness output of 6000 lumens for 2 minutes with or without Color Boost™, then automatically returns to 5000 lumens to regulate temperature and power consumption. Color Boost™ is easily accessed by pressing the mode button once. Divers can adjust brightness between 3000 lumens, 1500 lumens, and red-only mode (with two red LEDs used for night dives to avoid scaring marine life).
The Sea Dragon 5000+ also features an "Advanced" mode with more brightness and color settings, including more Color Boost™ options. The lamp automatically starts in "Easy Mode" with 5 light options. The user
can easily switch to Advanced Mode by pressing and holding the lamp's central push button for 8 seconds from the off state. The light also has an additional emergency signal mode - holding the central push button down for 4 seconds from the off state activates the 40+ hour emergency mode, which triggers an SOS signal or, when the button is pressed again, a 1-second flashing light. The 5000+ is lighter and smaller than its 5000 lumen predecessor. The lamp head includes a standard YS adapter, a Flex-Connect™ YS adapter and a 1" ball joint adapter that allows easy expansion with any YS, Flex-Connect or 1" ball joint system of arms, handles, rails and mounts. Buoyancy is negative underwater.
The Sea Dragon 5000+, with its powerful, removable 50W Li-ion battery, can run the lamp at full power for 1 hour with Color Boost™. The lamp comes with an AC battery charger, international plug adapters and a protective travel case.
