The Mares Atlas ADJ 62X with Octopus Dual regulator is the brand new superstar from Mares, an full-metal Mares regulator, like the popular Mares Epic ADJ 82X PVD regulator, or the classic Mares Abyss Navy, powerful and freezing-resistant regulators that guarantee optimal breathing performance under all diving conditions, even when diving in extremely cold water and therefore also suitable as a regulator for ice diving.

The Mares 62X 1st stage is a balanced, diaphragm-controlled 1st stage, robust and efficient, with a modern pearl chrome finish.
A Mares 1st stage that doesn't give up even in ice water
In addition to the other Mares regulators with a 62X 1st stage, this Atlas ADJ 62X regulator is equipped with the innovative TBP Dry Kit, a piston-controlled, double-balanced dry kit that completely prevents direct contact of the inner components of the 1st stage with the surrounding water , thus preventing freezing or contamination of the first stage.
Unbeatable breathing performance
The 62X offers excellent breathing comfort not only for the primary 2nd stage, but also for the octopus. This is due to the fact that this Mares 1st stage was provided with 4 DFC ports in order to offer constant and natural breathing resistance at any depth even for the alternate air source, as the DFC system (Dynamic Flow Control) minimizes low pressure decrease during inhalation.
Easy configuration
The 4 LP ports and the slightly angled 2 HP ports have been carefully placed at a distance from each other to allow flexible and easy attachment of the hoses and / or transmitters to the 1st stage, thus enabling an individual configuration of the Mares regulator.
A robust 1st stage well protected against external influences
Like all other new Mares 1st stages with an “X” in their names there is an innovative ACT Valve inside the 62X 1st stage, a valve provided with Advanced Coating Technology, which leads to 600% more valve durability.
Of course, this new Mares 1st stage also offers the meanwhile very popular AST - Auto Sealing Technology, which means that the 1st stages automatically seal themselves as soon as they are removed from the dive tank in order to avoid accidental water ingress.
Robust full-metal stage with improved breathing comfort
The new Mares Atlas ADJ is a very robust second stage, thanks to the full-metal construction, which grants it exceptional durability but also absolute resistance against freezing. It is a compensated 2nd stage, equipped with the Mares PAD technology, Pneumatically Assisted Design, which ensures a lower spring tension thus significantly increasing the breathing comfort.
Constant breathing performance in every depth
Breathing through an Atlas ADJ feels like natural breathing thanks to the patented VAD system, vortex support, which ensures a constant flow of air at every depth. The built-in hydrodynamic reflector ensures that the air from the VAD bypass tube is delivered directly to the mouthpiece, and guarantees the diver a constant, easy inhalation. In order to consider the individual needs of every diver, it also offers steplessly adjustable breathing resistance.
Robust materials, clever structure
The purge button is also made of robust metal, is large and pivotable, and can therefore be operated easily in any position and even with thick gloves.
The Atlas ADJ 2nd stage was equipped with a light and flexible 75cm Superflex hose, which guarantees you maximum freedom of movement and no tension or strain in the neck or jaw muscles, even in strong currents or long dives.
The Dual Octopus is a modified version of the Mares Dual 2nd stage, a light, compact and modern Alternate Air Source, with good breathing performance and robust construction.
