Originally developed by NASA for extreme use, the Mares XR base layer pants for drysuits are made of an innovative POLARTEC® POWERSTRETCH® fabric, ultra-light, elastic and breathable, lined inside with warming and skin-friendly fleece that absorbs shit and keeps the skin dry. For optimal warmth, the Mares XR Base Layer Top encloses a layer of air between the skin and the base layer, which keeps the body temperature well even in very cold environments.
This specially designed Polartec fabric of the Mares XR Base Layer Long Sleeve Underwear Top also gives you protection from the cold even when water enters the suit. This is because even when wet, the Mares XR Base Layer Top protects your body from heat loss. This means that you can also enjoy wearing the Mares XR Base Layer underwear under a loose fitting wetsuit to give your body some extra warmth when diving in cool water.
In addition, the material of the Mares XR Base Layer top is antimicrobial and odor resistant, which is great for extended dive trips or liveaboards where you may not be able to wash your bottom suit as often.
