Termal Protection Rating

In Europe wet, semidry and dry suits belong to what is called PPE category. PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment and refers to protective clothing, helmets, googles, or other garment or equipment designed to protect the wear's body from injury.

There are 4 PPE by type: Skin protection, Eye protection, Hearing protection an Protective clothing. Diving Equipment falls into that one.

The wet suits from 3mm thickness must be fully tested under CE EN 14225-1 standards (dry suits relate to CE EN 14225-2), checking all mechanical resistance and thermal protection ratification classes.

1. Class A (water temperature between 7°C/45°F an 12°C/54°F)
2. Class B (water temperature between 10°C/50°F and 18°C/64,5°F)
3. Class C (water temperature between 16°C/60,8°F and 24°C/85,2°F)
4. Class D (water temperature > 22°C/72°F)
