The Shaker is attached to the buoyancy compensator using the provided plastic carabiner, so it is readily accessible when needed.
Please note, while the Shaker is audible underwater, it is not a very effective signalling device at the water's surface. To attract attention in an emergency at the water's surface, other acoustic signals such as diver whistles, which are more easily heard at the surface, or the famous Dive Alert, which is very audible over long distances both above and below water, are much better suited. Alternatively, signal buoys at the water's surface can also be very effective.
