Garmin Descent MK3i 51mm dive computer with Garmin T2 Transciever
The unbelievable Garmin Descent success story continues with the new Garmin Descent MK3i dive computer with Garmin Transmitter T2 Transciever, which continues the winning streak of the popular and highly successful high-end Garmin Descent MK1 and Descent MK2 dive computers, and of course adds a lot more!
The new Garmin dive computer MK3i 51mm, also available in a smaller version as Mk3i 43mm, offers an unsurpassed range of technical refinements and innovations that provide you with maximum safety and comfort while diving, through easy underwater orientation, precise health monitoring, practical underwater communication and even the possibility to send an emergency call while still underwater..
Diving safety through advanced air integration, underwater communication and satellite connection
The new SubWave 2.0 air integration, together with this T2 Garmin transmitter, (can be paired with more than one transmitter) that comes with the new MK3i dive computer in both sizes, including the MK3i 43mm, allows you to keep a close eye not only on your air consumption rate and remaining air volume, but also on your buddy's (up to an underwater distance of 30m).
Buddy tracking allows you to monitor your buddy's distance (with software update in 2024) and depth at all times and even set a distance alarm, and with the integrated Diver2Diver system you can send messages to your buddy's dive computer via T2 Garmin Transmitter, up to a maximum distance of 30m (with software update in 2024).
Whether you are a dive guide keeping a close eye on your buddies or a diver keeping a close eye on your buddy, this advanced technology offers a much safer diving experience and is especially popular with instructors for the safe supervision of their students or with dive guides and liveaboards.
For advanced diving adventurers it is also good to know, that your new MK3 dive computers are all compatible with Garmin InReach (only with an active satellite subscription) which allows you to get help and stay in touch from all over the world, even without mobile data connection. Read more in the description of the Garmin InReach communication devices which you can also find in our online divestore.
The MK3 is also available as a dive computer without air integration, as the MK3s model.
Your health is always in focus with the new Garmin dive computer MK3
Dive Readiness is a concept based on the use of a large number of fine sensors to accurately measure and evaluate critical factors that can affect your risk of decompression sickness, in order to provide you with a safe dive. Data on your health, physical fitness, cognitive abilities, level of relaxation, but also important environmental factors are taken into account to provide you with a risk prediction for the dive. Especially divers with health impairments or divers who undertake very demanding underwater tours will benefit from this extensive data evaluation.
All Garmin MK3 models are equipped with Advanced WHRM, an optical heart rate sensor on the wrist, but can also be used with a Garmin Heart Belt for precise heart rate measurement, for example when the dive computer is worn over a wetsuit.
Very accurate orientation with compass and dive maps and GNSS satellite navigation
Underwater navigation has never been easier or more accurate, thanks to the innovative orientation aids offered by the new Garmin MK3 series dive computers. A very precise electronic 3D compass with tilt compensation helps you to always find the right bearing.
And as an absolute novelty, you will find pre-installed worldwide DiveView maps on all Garmin MK3s, which show you the topographical representation of the water bottoms and all surrounding dive spots in great detail. This allows you to find your way perfectly and safely even in completely unknown diving areas.
In the DiveMap view, you can activate the installed TopoActive map and thus have very precise depth contours and depth range shadings graphically displayed, as well as special areas such as marine parks or nature reserves.
When used as a multi-sport watch on the surface of the water, the Garmin MK3 offers you, as an absolute novelty, very accurate navigation based on GNSS satellite navigation, which, unlike GPS navigation, offers all-embracing orientation, as it uses all global satellite navigation systems, such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and other local systems, and thus offers accurate worldwide navigation. Whether you're sailing, trekking, cycling, hiking or doing any other sport that requires you to travel long distances in unfamiliar areas around the world, the new Garmin MK3 will help you navigate the globe with accurate TopoActive maps and GNSS tracking.
Five dive modes for advanced diving needs
From simple recreational dives with compressed air, to extended underwater tours with Nitrox or deep dives with Trimix, to advanced diving adventures with closed circuit rebreathers, with the MK3i anything goes. Even if you want to do without air underwater altogether, the MK3i dive computer accompanies you during freediving with the Apnea and Apnea Hunt modes.
Depending on the planned dive, environmental conditions, daily form or experience level, you can choose between different preset gradient factors with the Garmin MK3i dive computer to individually adjust the conservatism of your diving adventures for more safety and optimal bottom time.
Robust dive computer with integrated torch and many helpful measuring instruments
A new feature of the Garmin MK3i 51mm (only in this large size!) is the integrated flashlight, which can be used with either white or red light and is always useful when you unexpectedly need light underwater, to illuminate an instrument, to find your way in dimly lit environments, or to replace a broken torch in an emergency to ascend safely. It also offers an emergency blinking light.
Of course, all MK3 Garmin dive computers also offer the classic display backlight which automatically adapts to the Environment light conditions.
Other useful measuring instruments are also integrated into the new technical wonder from Garmin to provide you with all the information you need for a perfectly relaxed underwater adventure - depth gauge, water temperature, gyroscope, accelerometer and barometric altimeter.
Packed in extremely robust materials such as DLC Titanium, shockproof, rustproof and waterproof up to 200m, with a sapphire glass display protector and interchangeable QuickFit straps made of different materials, the Garmin MK3i 51mm is very well suitable for extreme diving adventures that demand a lot from your dive Computer.
Dive computer and sports watch in one
Thanks to the very advanced and absolutely innovative diving features, divers in particular will be delighted with the new Garmin MK3 computers, but these technological gems also have a lot to offer outside of the water, as Garmin Sports watches and outdoor watches. As the perfect companion for divers who also enjoy other outdoor activities, the MK3 is suitable for many other sports where you value accurate monitoring of your physiological data, comprehensive evaluation of your sporting performance, good analysis of environmental conditions and very precise navigation including orientation maps, whether climbing, orienteering, jogging, hiking, ski touring, swimming, cycling, sailing and other more than 80 different Sports apps.
Many practical everyday functions
Even as a simple everyday companion, the MK3 watches and computers offers you many useful functions, not only as a simple watch with AMOLED touch display with time and calendar. With the MK3, many other brand-new and also well-known and practical features are available, such as Garmin Pay, Garmin Music, Smart Notifications, torch (only the MK3i 51mm) and extensive monitoring of your health such as heart rate measurement, stress level, oxygen saturation or sleep quality.
The Garmin T2 Transceiver
The matching Garmin Descent T2 transmitter turns the powerful Garmin MK3i dive computer into a dive computer with air integration and dive messaging function(with software update in 2024).
Compared to classic dive computer transmitters, the Garmin Transmitter T2 uses advanced sonar technology, the brand new SubWave 2.0, which allows you to pair the Garmin MK3i computer with up to 8 transmitters simultaneously and allows a decent range of up to 10m underwater for air integration and 30m for dive messaging.
The Garmin transceiver is simply screwed into the high pressure port of the 1st stage of your regulator instead of the pressure gauge and can be intuitively and easily paired with the Garmin Descent MK3i dive computer to monitor all important dive parameters on your display. As with the previous model, the current tank pressure is displayed and the actual and very accurate saturation and remaining no-decompression time are calculated, but the T2 transceiver also allows you to monitor your buddy by keeping an eye on his data and even sending him messages underwater (with software update in 2024) at a distance of up to 30 metres using the Dive Messaging function. These features provide a significant increase in diving safety for the whole buddy team.
The Garmin T2 transceiver for Garmin Descent MK2i dive computers is powered by a long-life 3V CR123A lithium battery with a runtime of up to 100 operating hours, which can be easily replaced in your specialist workshop.
