The Apeks XL4 regulator with Octopus is the high-end product of the manufacturer Apeks, who offers under the name Stage 3 a Regulator System with all 3 stages that a reasonable diver would need underwater, 1st stage, 2nd stage and alternate air supply, and is a high quality Apeks regulator of the latest generation with overbalanced operation with excellent air delivery performance and very good freezing protection.

In this cold water Apeks regulator system, you get the Apeks XL4 regulator with Octopus with an additional second Apeks 1st stage DS4 for a cold water configuration with two separate regulators, and also a matching Apeks finimeter, a inflator hose and a high-quality Apeks regulator bag.

The Apeks XL4 1st stage

Based on the popular Apeks DS4 1st stage, the XL4 is a compact, cold-water 1st stage with outstanding performance and light weight.

High breathing comfort even at great depths

The Apeks XL4 is an overbalanced, diaphragm-controlled 1st stage, which means that the intermediate pressure rises faster than the ambient pressure during descent, giving the diver consistently high air delivery regardless of depth or tank pressure.

Externally insulated 1st stage for perfect freezing protection

The solid brass 1st stage, with high quality chrome plating, is completely enclosed with an environmental diaphragm and has a specially over-moulded endcap, allowing no water or debris to get inside of the 1st stage. This means that no ice crystals can build up inside the 1st stage, resulting in increased safety when diving in cold water. In addition, the surface area of the heat exchanger diaphragm clamp has been significantly increased to raise the gas temperature inside the first stage to ensure even better cold water performance.

Variable hose routing for any desired regulator configuration

The Apeks XL4 1st stage is equipped with 2 high-pressure ports and 4 medium-pressure ports, which are well placed on both sides, resulting in a comfortable and variable hose routing for any desired configuration.

Apeks XL4 2nd stage

The Apeks XL4 regulator is designed mainly as a regulator for long dives, for technical exploration dives where the diver needs light and powerful equipment, stage regulator with low weight and good air delivery performance in any environment,

Lightweight, compact and comfortable 2nd stage

Accordingly, the second stage of the XL4 regulator has been designed to be as compact and lightweight as possible to prevent jaw muscle fatigue even on long dives. The mouthpiece has also been designed for maximum comfort - a Comfo-Bite mouthpiece with a special bridge that fits perfectly to the palate to stay in place without requiring a lot of bite pressure, which is just the thing for long and demanding dives.

High breathing comfort

This pneumatically balanced Apeks 2nd stage with lever-operated poppet valve simply delivers the air you need without any further adjustment - breathing comfort is excellent at any depth. A large, ergonomically designed venturi lever that is easy to find and easy to use even with thick gloves is all you need - this compact and powerful 2nd stage does the rest for you.

Easy to operate

Not only the venturi lever, but also the large, over moulded purge button is very easy to find and operate. Even the replacement of the mouthpiece has been simplified by the installation of a reusable mouthpiece clip, so that you can change the mouthpiece at any time, even at the dive site, without cable ties and tools.

High quality flexible hose

As with the popular Apeks XTX200 regulator, the Apeks XL4 regulator is equipped with a durable and very flexible nylon coated hose, in this case a fancy White hose, matching the white cover of the 2nd stage, a high-quality hose which not only stands for durability but also offers better cold water properties than classic rubber hoses.

Breathing in an emergency situation has never been easier than with the Apeks XL4 regulator. Because the Apeks Octopus XL4 is based on the primary XL4 2nd stage and offers most of the same breathing comfort and benefits as this innovative 2nd stage.

Lightweight, easy to use

Like the rest of the XL4 regulator, the XL4 Octopus is very light and compact so as not to weigh down your diving equipment unnecessarily. Designed for demanding operations, the whole regulator is uncomplicated to use, as is this alternate air supply, where even with neoprene gloves the venturi lever or the purge button can still be operated without any problems.

High breathing comfort and good protection against the cold

No adjustable breathing resistance is necessary with this Octopus either, as this pneumatically balanced second stage ensures good airflow in any diving situation. As with the primary XL4 2nd stage, the hose connection of the octopus has a metal connection screw with enlarged surface, which ensures improved heat exchange and thus much better protection against freezing.

The yellow flex hose with braided nylon cover is of the same quality as the primary second stage hose and also guarantees durability and improved cold water properties.

Apeks DS4 1st stage

The Apeks DS4 is a diaphragm-controlled first stage, perfect for upgrading an Apeks regulator to an cold water configuration.

Combined with a suitable alternate air supply, you can use your SCUBA system as a two-regulator configuration, when you dive in cold water, where you need two isolated 1st stages which can be switched off individually.

Perfectly protected against dirt and ice

Even in very cold water, the Apeks DS4 is the right first stage for use in cold water, as it is completely closed and insulated form the environment and is equiped with a dry chamber, which means it is also optimally protected against dirt.

Constantly good air delivery performance

The fact that this Apeks 1st stage is a diaphragm controlled stage, means for the diver consistently good air delivery performance, regardless of depth or tank pressure.

This 1st stage offers one  HP-port and 4 LP-ports and has a DIN 200/300 bar connection, and is also available as a Nitrox 1st stage.

Apeks Pressure Gauge

The Apeks pressure gauge in this regulator systemis a lightweight and compact finimeter, accurate and easy to attach.

Easy to read even in poor visibility

This underwater manometer has a clear display with good contrast and coloured reserve area, still very easy to read even in poor visibility.

Robust diving instrument with pressure relief valve

The plastic housing is light and shock-resistant, and protects the sensitive instrument even under demanding conditions. The finimeter is protected against accidental bursting by a pressure relief valve.

The finimeter is equipped with a robust high-pressure hose and a practical attachment eyelet, so you can easily attach the instrument to your buoyancy compensator with a suitable carabiner or console holder.

Inflator hose

The regulator complete set is rounded off with a black, robust and flexible inflator hose with a length of 65cm and a classic connection according to DIN standard EN 250.
