The Scubapro MK19 EVO 1st stage is an air-balanced, membrane-controlled high-performance stage, which is perfectly armed against very low temperatures with special cold-water technology. The 1st stage MK19 EVO uses the patented AF anti-freeze protection, which is created by attaching a series of deflectors to the chrome-plated brass housing of the 1st stages, the surface of which acts as a heat dissipater. This means that the MK19 EVO does not freeze, not even in very cold water.
In addition, the Scubapro MK19 EVO has an environmentally sealed system , a dry balance chamber that prevents water and pollution from getting in contact with the inner mechanism. Thus you have no dirt getting inside the 1st stage of your regulator, and, what's even more important for deep and cold dives, there is no chance for any ice crystals to develop on or around the main spring, even in extremely cold water.
