Mares Ultra Octopus
The Ultra Octopus is a Mares alternate air source for Mares regulators, an Octopus that you can purchase individually or, for example, in combination with one of the high-performance Mares regulators of the latest generation such as the Mares Epic ADJ 82X PVD or the Mares Ultra ADJ 82X.
Innovative alternate air supply with practical features
The Mares Ultra octopus is a compensated 2nd stage with a standard downstream valve, a very light 2nd stage made of robust techno polymer, with a very large, pivoting purge button with Mesh-Grid insert to prevent Free-Flow.
High breathing comfort at any depth thanks to VAD and VAD+
As we are used to from Mares, the Ultra 2nd stage, also in the Octopus version, is equipped with VAD - Vortex Assisted Design technology. Air flows through the bypass tube on the 2nd stage, creating a vortex with underpressure in its centre, which sucks in the membrane and causes the regulator to react even more sensitive to your breathing, significantly improving breathing comfort at every depth. But that alone is not enough - this Mares alternate air source even offers you an improved VAD + option that gives you an extra breathing push in extreme diving situations. Thanks to the bright-yellow Twin Power switch on the Mares Ultra octopus, you can choose between VAD and VAD + at any time.
With high-quality Superflex hose as standard
You’ll get the Ultra Octopus with a bright-yellow 75cm Superflex hose, which is much more durable than normal LP hoses and, thanks to its flexibility, offers you maximum freedom of movement when diving.
In our online shop for diving equipment you will find the Mares Ultra octopus individually or as an alternate air source for all Mares regulator sets of the new "X" Generation.
