Scubapro Surface Marker Buoy
These Scubapro surface marker buoys are high-quality Scubapro SMBs for divers, which, depending on the design and colour, can be used either as an emergency buoy, i.e. as a signal buoy for emergencies when diving (yellow), or as a decompression buoy (orange). The Scubapro diver marker buoys are equipped with several inflation options and convince with clearly visible signal colors.
Various inflation options
The Scubapro SMBs can be opened at the bottom to inflate them underwater with the alternate air suplly. However, the Scubapro diver marker buoys are equipped with additional inflation options or with several valves, and can be inflated with the mouth as well as with the inflator. Once inflated, the Scubapro signal buoy rises to the surface where it remains positioned vertically.
Please do not confuse emergency buoys with decompression buoys
Some countries or diving organizations designate yellow buoys as emergency buoys and in these regions only orange buoys should be used as decompression buoys. However, this rule is not generally valid and therefore a yellow signal buoy cannot always be regarded as an emergency buoy. As a diver, you are always obliged to inform yourself about the locally applicable rules and regulations in your diving area or holiday country.
But if you want to be on the safe side, Scubapro offers you with these signal buoys explicitely labeled diving buoys, which distinctly indicate what they are used for - the yellow buoy with the clearly visible lettering "EMERGENCY" as an emergency SMB and the orange buoys with the lettering "DIVER BELOW" as a decompression buoy or surface marker buoy for emerging diver.
Clearly visible even at a great distance
With a total length of 140cm or 180cm and the bright yellow or orange colors, the Scubapro marker buoys are clearly visible on the water surface even at a great distance and in strong waves. For more visibility, you can attach a signal light to the top end of the Scubapro surface buoy on the specially designed plastic D-ring.

The Scubapro SMBs are made of very durable 210D nylon material, with robust welded seams, and are light, practical and reliable.
