Mares Titanium/Ceramic Line Cutter
The new Titanium/Ceramic Line-Cutter from Mares is a very useful emergency tool for divers, a robust titanium/ceramic hand cutter, a sharp line cutter with ceramic and titanium blades that will easily cut any line or fishing net you accidentally get tangled in while diving, without dulling or corroding. The useful line cutter is also available as a pure ceramic hand cutter Line-Cutter Beta Ceramic and also in the higher quality full titanium version Line-Cutter Beta Titanium.
Sharp and robust blades that do not corrode
As already known from many high-quality titanium diving knives, titanium blades score with a very robust and extremely sharp blade that does not corrode and has excellent abrasion resistance, just like the lightweight ceramic blades that are also known from various kitchen utensils. The titanium blade is made of a high-quality military grade titanium alloy with a hardness of HRC 56, does not splinter or rust, and the smooth ceramic blade also stays sharp for a very long time without dulling or corroding, which means that this practical tool guarantees many years of trouble-free use, even in chlorine and salt water.
Double blade for lines and ropes up to 30mm
To keep the high-quality blades sharp, both sides are protected with practical plastic shields. On one side you will find a classic, smooth ceramic blade that can cut through lines up to a diameter of 10mmm. On the other side, there is a movable shield that can be folded upwards so that you can also cut through thicker lines with a maximum diameter of 30mm. On this side, designed for thicker lines, is a titanium blade with a saw teeth edge that can easily handle heavy-duty tasks.
Uncomplicated handling, easy transport
The practical Titanium/ceramic hand cutter for divers can be used with only one hand and is exceptionally sharp, which makes it much easier to operate underwater, but also requires very careful and attentive handling to minimise the risk of injury. The manufacturer recommends stowing the blade back in the sheath immediately after use and not leaving it hanging freely.
Since it was designed for use in demanding diving environments, the Titanium/Ceramic Line Cutter is not intended as a diving knife but only as a line cutter to cut any fishing lines, nets or other lines and ropes. To ensure ease of use even in poor visibility and stressful diving situations, the Mares line cutter has a very plain design, a simple handle that is easy to hold even with neoprene gloves, is very easy to attach with Velcro and is child's play to remove from its Cordura sheath and stow away again.
