Thick Neoprene Hoods for Cold Water - Warm 5mm Hoods up to 7mm Neoprene Hoods
In cold waters, proper head protection is required when diving, and thick hoods, made from 5 to 7mm neoprene, such as the Mares Hood 6.5.3 or the Scubapro Hood 6.5.4, both quality and warm 6mm neoprene hoods for divers. Such warm and thick hoods are also necessary as a dry suit hood, since reliable cold protection for the head is particularly important when dry diving.
Bibbed Neoprene Hoods or Hoods without Collar
Depending on the cut of the suit, divers choose hoods without a collar, like the Everflex 5/3 or the Waterproof Hood H2 3/5, or for a bibbed hood with a collar, like the Everflex 6/5/4 hood with a bib, which has an especially wide collar that can be placed under the suit's collar or between the two neck seals of the drysuit to achieve even better sealing in the neck area.

5mm Neoprene Gloves - Gloves with Cuff or Neoprene Gloves with Zipper
There are 5mm neoprene gloves available as diving gloves with a normal cuff without fasteners like the Mares Neoprene Gloves Flexa Classic 5mm or with a zipper, such as the Waterproof Gloves G2 5mm. It is up to each diver to decide which handling they prefer. Generally, gloves with a zipper are a bit pricier but vastly facilitate putting on and taking off the gloves.
Semi-Dry Neoprene Gloves - Neoprene Gloves with Double Cuffs
For particularly cold dives, or as gloves for drysuit diving, we recommend the use of neoprene gloves with double cuffs, like the Scubapro Neoprene Gloves 5mm G-Flex Gloves. These usually come with a zipper on the upper cuff for easier donning and doffing, and seal perfectly on the hands by layering one cuff under the dive suit and the other cuff over the suit's sleeve, thus achieving almost perfect water tightness.
3-Finger neoprene gloves or 5-finger diving gloves
A special type of gloves are the 3-finger gloves, such as the Flexa 3F 6.5mm Mares Gloves, which provide a bit more thermal protection by having three fingers together in one glove pocket, thus keeping each other warm. These gloves are designed for very cold dives, serving as a practical step towards drysuit gloves.
Dry Gloves for Your Drysuit
If you want to forgo wet or semi-dry gloves for drysuit diving and prefer to keep your hands dry as well, there are special closure systems which allow you to attach dry gloves to the drysuit.
